  12. VClock v1.5a
  13. ------------

  15. This is a real speech clock. It runs as a commodity, uses little memory,
  16. and has some neat features.
  17.  
  18. - 12 or 24 hour clock
  19. - AM/PM(12hr) or Hours(24hr) endings can be turned off or on
  20. - Hourly, 1/2 hour, and 1/4 hour Chime
  21. - VClock can be deactivated at any time.
  22. - High quality 8-bit samples, sampled at 22Khz
  23. - Enhanced Chime. Voice, Chime, or both.
  24. - Samples can be replaced by your own voice if you have a sampler
  25.   handy
  26. - Uses Play16.
  27. - Prefs Window. Now you can edit, test, and save most of VClock's
  28.   prefs with this window.
  29. - Option to Speak On Startup (S.O.S)

  61. Tooltypes that VCLock Sets.
  62.  
  63. NOTE: Only the CX_ tooltypes need to be edited by hand, The rest can be
  64. saved through the new Prefs Window.

  66. PATH      - < path > where ever your samples for VClock are.
  67.  
  68. PLAY16    - The Play16 file by name and path.
  69.  
  70. P16_ARGS  - Arguments for Play16. Default is BUF=32 PRI=2. Consult the
  71.             Play16 docs for the prarmeters it uses.
  72.  
  73. 24Hr      - Sets 24hr mode: 0=OFF  1=ON
  74.  
  75. BEGINING  - Intro for the time. 0=OFF  1=Begining 1  2=Begining 2
  76.  
  77. FORMAT    - Short or Long versions of the time: 0=OFF  1=ON (default)
  78.  
  79. S.O.S     - Speak On Startup. Will say the time when VClock is first
  80.             started. 0=OFF   1=ON (default)

  82. NOTIFY    - Speak the time every 1/2 hour or every hour on the hour:
  83.             0=OFF  1=Every hour on the hour   2=Every 1/2 hour
  84.  
  85. CHIME     - 0=Voice  1=Chime  2=Both
  86.  
  87. CHIMEONCE - 0=OFF  1=ON. If OFF the Chime will sound according to what hour
  88.             it is, ie: 9:00 the chime will sound 9 times. If ON it will
  89.             sound only once and the time will be spoken on the hour.

  91. VOLUME    - Sets how loud or quiet VClock speaks. (0-100) 100 is the default.
  92.  
  93. CX_SPEAK  - Hotkey to make VClock speak (lshift lalt f10).
  94.  
  95. CX_SLEEP  - Hotkey to turn make VClock quiet. On or off (lshift lalt z). This
  96.             only has an effect if the NOTIFY is on."

  98. CX_SHOW   - Brings up VClock's Prefs Window. (lshift lalt v)

  101. Making your own Samples:
  102. -----------------------

  104. It is very easy. Just get a microphone and a sampler and sample your own.
  105. Listen to the samples in the VSamples dir. Make your samples and replace
  106. the old files with yours or make a new directory and have VClock use those
  107. instead.

  110. I added a real Chime, So I changed "Chime" in the prefs window to "Notify"
  111. Play with the prefs window to see what it does. The chime will ring out the
  112. hours aswell, ie: At 3:00 it will chime 3 times if Loop is set to on.

  118. 1.0   - Wrong tooltype, should have been ENDING, not HOURS

  120. 1.0b  - Changed audio channel mask to channels #2 and #3. Seems to be a bit
  121.         more friendly when other sounds try to use the audio.device.
